Shepherd's Heart Ministry - Chicago
STAFF AND LEADERSHIP
The commitment of the leadership and community at Shepherds Heart Ministry is the heart of what makes us a unique ministry. We are dedicated to serving the community and strengthening the impact of our church on people’s lives.
Paul Willey
Pastor
With Shepherd's Heart Ministry for one year now, Paul brought significant experience from his work in and around ministry for many years. He started a worshipping community call Eden Church while confined to a wheelchair in an assisted living community. There he saw the wonderful outpouring of the disabled community. Despite their restrictions, they found ways to attend food packing events for Haiti earthquake survivors, and raise a significant amount of money with their loose change offering. Paul later trained as a Chaplain. Initially it was a requirement for his degree, but as funds dried up to attend seminary, Paul dedicated himself to the ministry of caring for the tiniest of God's beloved children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatrics. He additionally served as the chaplain for Labor & Delivery. It was there that he developed a style of caring for both the children and parents through puppetry, prayer, and the sacraments. Paul says about his ministry...
I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to care for the families and staff at the hospital I served at the time. I often felt that I was walking on holy ground as I cared for the babies, children, and their families. I am excited to be at Shepherd's Heart Ministry, and I look forward to the opportunities for all that choose to tell their stories in a safe space. My goal is to create that space for all who feel outcast in our society, no matter the circumstances.
